Cuor di Toscana
Pottery, Pizza and Ponies

From Saturday to Saturday, a week of…
Pottery, Pizza and Ponies
…February to May and October to mid-December

Day 1: A Tuscan welcome
We settle in to our farm accommodation. Dinner consists of local specialities, accompanied by vegetables freshly picked from the kitchen garden. Food is a part of culture, so it is through our farmhouse dinner that we begin to get acquainted with the beautiful countryside that surrounds us.

Day 2: Making ourselves at home
A whole free day, to be spent making the acquaintance of the hills, the colours, the perfumes of the season in the countryside.

Day 3: Each to their own thing..!
The kids can’t wait to begin their 3-day course of Riding for Beginners. On dismounting, a delicious snack will await them!
Meanwhile, Mum can concentrate on her cookery course, learning to prepare seasonal Tuscan dishes.

Day 4: Kids in the saddle and Mums … in the garden!
In search of the origins of the ingredients we used on yesterday’s cookery course - time to visit the countryman who grew the delicious fruit and vegetables and the shepherd who made that wonderful cheese. Not forgetting a trip to the wine cellar, to check out the best combinations of local food and wine.
A gourmet’s paradise!

Day 5: Did someone say “shopping”?
The kids are now inseparable from their ponies, so Mum can dedicate her day to the famous Montelupo pottery, visiting the Ceramics Museum and a modern factory, where it will be possible to buy pieces of local pottery.

Day 6: Look what we’ve learnt!
The Mums – with a little help from their cookery teacher – are in charge of tonight’s dinner.
So let’s see what the kids have learnt? It’s their turn make the mid-afternoon snack for all!

Day 7: Arrivederci!
One last long look over the rolling Tuscan countryside, then – arrivederci – see you again soon!
